Actress Jane Fonda brought her daughter and granddaughter to a weekend performance of “O.P.C.” at the American Repertory Theater. The play was written by Fonda’s friend and occasional collaborator Eve Ensler. Afterward, the 76-year-old Oscar winner posed for a photo with the cast. . . . Merrimack Repertory Theatre has chosen its next artistic director. Sean Daniels, who’s currently artist-at-large at the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, N.Y., has signed a five-year contract with the Lowell-based Merrimack Rep. He replaces Charles Towers, who had previously announced plans to step down at the end of this season. . . . Actress-comedian Fran Drescher, who has a place in Belmont, stopped by the MFA with a friend Monday. An art collector and self-described “culture-aholic,” Drescher viewed the exhibitions “Jamie Wyeth” (on view through Dec. 28) and “Goya: Order and Disorder” (on view through Jan. 19), and had lunch in the museum’s New American Cafe. . . . Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Alex Cobb and his family had a Christmas party at the Kowloon.
